The center is operated by "Genting Simon Sdn Bhd" (GSSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Simon Genting Ltd ("SGL"). SGL in turn is a 50:50 joint venture between Genting Plantations Bhd and Premium Outlets®, the outlet division of Simon Property Group.

Genting Highlands Premium Outlets® will feature 150 designer and brand name outlet stores.

Johor Premium Outlets® is a collection of 130 designer and name brand outlet stores featuring savings of 25% to 65% every day. The center is held by “Genting Simon Sdn Bhd” (GSSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Simon Genting Ltd (“SGL”). SGL in turn is a 50:50 joint venture between Azzon Lt (“Azzon”), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Genting Plantations Bhd, and Simon Premium Outlets, the outlet division of Simon Property Group.

Phase I of Johor Premium Outlets® was officially opened on December 11, 2011. The outlet center added 50 new stores, bringing the total number to 130 through its Phase II expansion on November 15, 2013.

Location and Accessibility

Genting Highlands Premium Outlets® is situated within Genting Highlands and is well connected to the capital city, Kuala Lumpur by car, bus, taxi and cable car (from Genting mid-hill to the peak). Highly accessible, it is approximately 45 minutes’ drive from Kuala Lumpur and within 1.5 to 2 hours drive from Ipoh, Kuantan and Seremban via the North-South Expressway and Karak Expressway.

Johor Premium Outlets® is located at the intersection of the North-South Expressway and the Second Link Expressway. The center is highly accessible to all traffic going to and from Johor and Singapore. It is about an hour’s drive from the City of Singapore, about 3 hours from Kuala Lumpur and only a short distance from Senai International Airport.

Target customers and expected traffic

Genting Highlands Premium Outlets® is targeting a wide range of shoppers including local and international visitors to Genting Highlands. As a major tourist destination, Genting Highlands welcomes about 20 million visitations annually. The cool misty mountain atmosphere with spring-like weather all year round is a big draw for visitors.

Johor Premium Outlets® is targeting a wide range of shoppers including area residents as well as international visitors from South East Asia. It will also serve as a hub between Resorts World Genting Malaysia, which is about 3.5 hours drive and Resort World Sentosa in Singapore, which is about an hour’s drive from Johor Premium Outlets®.

Land sizes and gross built-up

Upon completion, the gross built-up of Genting Highlands Premium Outlets® will be approximately 600,000 sq. ft., comprising gross leasable area or GLA (same as net lettable area) of 275,000 sq. ft.

Johor Premium Outlets® takes up 45 acres of land. Upon completion, the gross built-up of Johor Premium Outlets® will be approximately 379,000 sq. ft., comprising gross leasable area or GLA (same as net leasable area) of 269,000 sq. ft.
